I am a design researcher in innovation and transitions around sustainability, emerging technologies in public life, and citizen participation.
I bring a combination of design research (e.g., prototyping, co-creating narratives and design artifacts), ethnographic work (including workshops), transdisciplinary innovation and change management.
As a postdoctoral researcher at VU Amsterdam on hope in sustainable transitions, I designed, developed and evaluated interventions for cultural transformations in and between organizations in Dutch infrastructure.
My PhD at Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft, concerned the everyday improvisation by which households adapt to technologies in sustainable transitions. This research builds on more-than-human frameworks to reconceptualize the role of technologies in societal transitions for the field of design.
I also have extensive experience in teaching in and about the field of design research. Below you can find a selection of my work.
