I am a design researcher in societal transitions interested in unintended interactions.
As a postdoctoral researcher at VU Amsterdam on hope in sustainable transitions, I design, develop and evaluate interventions for cultural transformations in and between organizations in Dutch infrastructure.
My PhD at Industrial Design Engineering, TU Delft, concerned the everyday improvisation by which households adapt to technologies in sustainable transitions. This research builds on more-than-human frameworks to reconceptualize the role of technologies in societal transitions for the field of design.
In my research, I use a combination of interventionist and action-oriented design research (e.g., co-creating narratives and design artifacts) and design ethnographic work (including workshops).
I also have extensive experience in teaching in and about the field of design research. Below you can find a selection of my work.
